The start of a new chapter.
Crafting has always been a part of our lives.
It’s something we both grew up with—a tradition passed down from our parents and grandparents. From the hum of a sewing machine to the smell of freshly cut wood, these moments shaped our childhoods and inspired our creativity. Stitch and Timber Co. is more than just a business to us; it’s a celebration of those memories and the skills we’ve honed over the years.
When I found myself unexpectedly unemployed, I saw it as an opportunity rather than a setback. For years, I had dreamed of starting something of my own—a chance to channel my passion for design and crafting into something meaningful. Initially, I wanted to focus on sewing projects—creating stuffed animals, cross-stitch patterns, and holiday decor. Stitch, the fabric side of our business, is my baby and my passion. But as I began this journey, my husband, with his love for woodworking, wanted to be part of it too. That’s how Timber, representing the woodcraft side of our creations, came to life. Together, we decided it was time to take a leap of faith and turn our shared love for crafting into a business.
Stitch and Timber Co. was born out of our desire to combine our talents and create something special. I’m the "Stitch" of Stitch and Timber, focusing entirely on sewing and fabric-based creations. My husband is the "Timber," taking the lead on all woodworking projects. While we occasionally combine the two, for the most part, our two sides remain separate, each with its own unique creations. We aim to offer modern handmade items that bring warmth and personality to any space, whether it's a cozy fabric piece or a beautiful woodcrafted item.
Before starting Stitch and Timber Co., I spent years working in marketing and graphic design, where I developed skills in branding, storytelling, and connecting with audiences. This background has been invaluable in shaping the vision and identity of our business. It has also helped us share our story and creations in a way that resonates with our customers. Combining my marketing expertise with our passion for crafting has allowed us to build a brand that feels authentic and personal.
Starting this journey has been incredibly rewarding. Every piece we create is a labor of love, reflecting the care and attention to detail we put into our work. We’re proud to share our creations with the world and hope they bring as much joy to others as they do to us.
Through Stitch and Timber Co., we’re not only building a business but also honoring the traditions and values that brought us here. We’re excited to see where this journey takes us and grateful for the support of everyone who believes in what we’re creating. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to grow and share more of our story with you.
